The Teddy Bear (Valeria y Dana)

Once upon a time, in a quiet suburban neighborhood, there lived a little girl named Eliza. She was a solitary child, often seen playing alone in her backyard, and her mother watched her with a heavy heart. There were no other children around their secluded home, and even if there were, Eliza found it challenging to connect with others.

One day, to her mother's surprise, Eliza began talking about a new friend she had found in the backyard, a friend who cared about her and took an interest in her life. The mother, concerned about her daughter's loneliness, wasn't initially pleased with the arrival of this imaginary friend. She thought it might be a coping mechanism for Eliza's solitude.

"He's enormous," Eliza would say, "He can shoot rays of light from his hands, and he's covered in soft brown fur."

The mother couldn't watch over her daughter all the time, so she worried that Eliza might be referring to some animal that had somehow entered their yard. But upon seeing her daughter's teddy bear, she assumed that Eliza had transformed it into her new friend.

As the mother's workload increased due to her recent divorce, she spent less and less time with her daughter. However, they always made time to talk during dinner, and it seemed that Eliza had more and more to say about her imaginary friend. The mother began to lose her patience. A friend who couldn't be seen was disconcerting, and Eliza's concise descriptions were somewhat eerie.

One fateful day, the mother returned home from work, and Eliza was nowhere to be found. Panic set in as she searched every corner of their home, but there was no sign of her.

On the news, she saw a report about a child kidnapper. He was tall, wearing a fluffy brown sweater, and had a terrifying face. He was accused of abducting nearly a dozen children, known for taking flash photographs of them.

In the crime scene photo, her daughter's teddy bear was there…A shiver ran down the mother's spine as she realized the implications. She rushed to the scene, showing a photo of her daughter to the police officers and explaining Eliza's descriptions of her imaginary friend. The officer promised to search for her immediately.

Hours passed, each moment feeling like an eternity, until finally, the mother received a call. Eliza had been found, but it was not the joyful reunion she had hoped for. The officer's voice trembled as he delivered the devastating news—Eliza had been found lifeless in the kidnapper's hideout, a victim of his cruel intentions.

The world around the mother crumbled as she collapsed to her knees, tears streaming down her face. Her heartache was immeasurable, and the weight of her grief was unbearable. She had lost her precious daughter to a monster who had taken her away
